We wanted to show that Ben had not yet settled down into the hut that we see in Star Wars, but instead he was more of a gypsy wandering the wastelands of Tatooine - going on all sorts of adventures, while secretly looking after Luke.
One of the coolest parts of this project was deciding what to fill up 'Ol Ben's backpack with. It was a great opportunity to tell some little stories about the adventures he's been on during the time between Ep 3 and 4.
